20 Debunking Donation Myths Every dollar helps our community thrive You may already be familiar with the Kootenai Health Foundation. If you’re not, you can think of the Foundation as the fundraising arm of the hospital. The Foundation raises money to support our programs and services, provide needed medical equipment, enhance facilities, and help support patient needs. Hospital foundations rely on community involvement and donations to support the hospital’s growing services. Here are a few common misconceptions about supporting the Foundation. 01 Small donations don’tmatter. Gifts of all sizes help support the work of the hospital. The Kootenai Health Foundation accepts donations of all kinds. Any donation can stand on its own or be added to a larger fund to help it grow. After all, 100 donations of $10 make a larger impact than one donation of $100. 02 I don’t get to specifywhat mydonationsupports. The Kootenai Health Foundation currently has 15 special funds supporting various areas of the hospital. This includes everything from our Cancer Patient Support fund to clinical scholarships to help staff advance their education. If none of these funds speak to you, Foundation staff will work with you directly to decide how your donation can best be used. Mymoneydoesn’t stay local. Unlike many national foundations, 100 percent of donations to the Kootenai Health Foundation stay local.
