As the
leading cause of death for
both men and women, heart disease
claims more than 600,000 lives
every year in the U.S. However,
a simple screening could help
you avoid becoming part of this
alarming statistic.
To help people learn their risk for
heart disease, Kootenai Health is
offering Heart to Heart™ screen-
ings in February. Through the
annual screening program, commu-
nity members can get an overview
of their heart health and potential
risk factors for heart disease, for a
minimal charge.
“It’s important for people to have
a baseline of their numbers and to
understand how those numbers
affect their health,” said Joyce Kratz
Klatt, supervisor of Kootenai Health’s
cardiac and pulmonary rehabilita-
tion program. “By offering screenings
at a discounted rate, people can
get the information they need to
