Kootenai?
My husband was raised in
the Spokane area and has family in
northern Idaho. We decided to move
out here to be closer to family, because
it is so beautiful and because the com-
munity is so kind.

Rheumatology

Lansing, Michigan
Married to Andrea Dinning, D.O.
Why did you choose your specialty?
I chose rheumatology
for many reasons. The biggest reason is that you get to develop
a personal relationship with your patients. Another reason is the
recent advances in treatment of rheumatologic disease. We are
able to get many of our diseases into long-term remission. Also, I
believe the worst symptom of any disease is pain. I feel honored
when I can help decrease the pain of arthritis.
What are some of your hobbies?
My hobbies include spend-
ing time with my wife, Andrea, and my children, Madilyn and
Audrey. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as waterfowl hunting,
fishing and distance running.
What drew you to northern Idaho/Kootenai?
No. 1, it is beauti-
ful here! And No. 2, I grew up in Washington and have lots of
family in the area.

Neonatology

Married to Ty Judd
Why did you choose your specialty?
I chose neonatology be-
cause I realized early in my medical school training that I liked
intensive patient care best. There are fewer joys in life than being
able to care for the tiniest patients of all!
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy spending time with
my family on road trips and vacations. I enjoy reading, shopping,
cooking and attending the ballet with my girls.
What drew you to northern Idaho/Kootenai?
The beautiful
scenery and relaxed way of life is incredible in northern Idaho.
That was my initial impression when I first visited Coeur d’Alene
many years ago on my way to ski with family at Schweitzer
Mountain. When I returned to the area several months ago to
interview, I was equally impressed with the vision and mission
of Kootenai Health and knew I had to be a part of it.
