KOOTENAI CANCER CENTER HAS A HISTORY
of providing comprehensive cancer care
to the patients of northern Idaho, east-
ern Washington and western Montana.
Kootenai’s commitment was recently recognized with
a three-year accreditation with commendation from the
American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer
(CoC). This accreditation places the Center in the top
rankings of CoC’s Community Hospital Comprehensive
Cancer Program.
Accreditation by the CoC is awarded to cancer pro-
grams that voluntarily undergo a rigorous evaluation
process and review of their performance. After an on-
site survey, the Center received acknowledgement for
its commitment to excellence in cancer care through
efforts in clinical services, research, community outreach,
quality improvement, cancer committee leadership and
cancer data management.

“Kootenai Cancer Center has been continuously ac-
credited by the CoC since 1990. It’s an honor to receive
this recognition again,” said David Davenport, M.D.,
committee chairman. “Everyone here works hard year
after year to make sure we give our patients the best in
cancer care.”
