KOOT ENA I HEALTH ’ S BOARD O F
trustees and administrative leadership team
recently completed a long-range strategic plan
that will help guide us in our decision making
over the coming months and years. Part of this
process included updating our organizational
mission statement to better reflect who we are.
Many organizations have mission statements.
They offer a concise summary of what the organi-
zation does, as well as the way in which they do
it. Mission statements also offer a quick glimpse
into what the organization values most.
Kootenai’s new mission statement reads, “We
improve health one patient at a time in a friendly and professional culture
committed to superior quality and safety.”
Here’s what that means to you:
We improve health.
Beyond just healing a wound or correcting a problem,
we are committed to your long-term health. When we can offer a class, lend
support or show you how to live a healthier life, we will.
One patient at a time.
Every person who seeks care with us has unique
physical, mental and emotional needs. We will respect these unique needs.
In a friendly and professional culture.
Our staff are just as committed
to providing compassionate care as they are to clinical excellence. We call it
our “Heart for Excellence,” and we believe it is one of our most important
qualities.
Committed to superior quality and safety.
Notice we don’t say “good”
or even “excellent” quality and safety. When it comes to quality and safety,
only being the best will do.
Even with all the planning and careful selection of words, our mission
is only as good as your personal experience. It is our goal that each of our
patients will know it is a mission accomplished.
Wishing you good health,
Jon Ness, CEO
