Me e t o u r n ew p r ov i d e r s Robin Beard, NP Kootenai Clinic Lung and Asthma Tell us a little about you and your family: I have been a nurse since 2005 and a nurse practitioner since 2019. Various other jobs I have had include a high school teacher, an HIV researcher and a wildland firefighter. My husband of 24 years, Tim, is a flight nurse. We have two grown daughters—Casey is completing her Ph.D. in biophysics, and Reese has started medical school in the U.S. Navy. Why did you pick your specialty? I have always wanted to work with the great team at Kootenai Clinic Lung and Asthma. As someone who has asthma, I understand the importance of respiratory health and truly understand how unsettling it can be to struggle to breathe. What can patients expect when they first meet with you? Patients can expect to meet someone who will carefully listen to their health concerns and be treated in an unbiased and caring manner. What are some of your hobbies? My hobbies are biking (road and mountain); running; and hiking with my dogs, Daisy and Rosco. What drew you to Kootenai Health? The supportive and committed providers and staff at Kootenai Clinic Lung and Asthma drew me back to Kootenai Health. I appreciate everyone’s dedication to excellent patient care. What is your favorite healthy tip? Get the COVID-19 vaccine. Call (208) 625-3555 to schedule an appointment. Brittney Brady, PA Kootenai Clinic General Surgery Tell us a little about you and your family: I grew up in Missoula, Montana, and attended the University of Montana for undergrad—go Griz! Following undergrad, I moved to Coeur d’Alene and worked as a medical scribe at Kootenai Health, prior to being accepted into PA school. I attended the University of Washington MEDEX program in Spokane. I am engaged to an Idaho native, and we have lived in Hayden for the past two years. We have a 2-year-old Goldendoodle named Charlie who we are completely obsessed with. Why did you pick your specialty? I picked general surgery because I have always enjoyed being in the operating room and involved in the action. In high school, I had the opportunity to shadow in surgery and fell in love. When I was a medical scribe, I enjoyed working with the general surgery team and hoped one day I would get to come back and be a part of the team again. I enjoy being able to assist in surgeries, see patients while in the hospital and see them in the office when they have fully recovered. What can patients expect when they first meet with you? Patients can expect me to listen and work to understand their needs. I want my patients to feel heard and be able to contribute to their care. What are some of your hobbies? I love to travel, hike and try new things. I enjoy hanging out with friends and family as much as possible! What drew you to Kootenai Health? I was drawn to Kootenai Health because of my amazing experience as a medical scribe. Everyone I have ever been in contact with at Kootenai has been so friendly and always willing to help. Kootenai has an outstanding reputation, and I believe it stands up to that reputation. What is your favorite healthy tip? Move your body for at least 30 minutes a day, and make time for good sleep.
