Me e t o u r n ew p r ov i d e r s George Bell, M.D. Kootenai Clinic Internal Medicine Tell us a little bit about you and your family: I am married to my wife, Heather, whose father, Conlyn Cederblom, was a family physician in Coeur d’Alene for about 30 years. Why did you pick your specialty? I chose internal medicine because it focuses on the treatment of many different diseases and preventive medicine. We get to care for our patients for many years and get to know them well. What can patients expect when they show up for their first appointment with you? At the first appointment, we will review medical history, address any new issues the patient may need to discuss and develop a plan. Last, we will discuss any preventive services the patient may be due for, such as vaccinations. What are some of your hobbies? My hobbies include running, golf and fly- fishing. My wife and I also enjoy traveling. What drew you to Kootenai Health? I previously had a medical practice in the Coeur d’Alene area and have returned to this beautiful place to continue caring for patients here. What is your favorite healthy tip? I recommend regular exercise, according to the patient’s abilities, as well as healthy eating habits. To schedule an appointment, call (208) 625-4965 . Britta Beasley, M.D. Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Residency Tell us a little bit about you and your family: I was born and raised in a small town in northern New Mexico. I completed medical school in New Mexico and moved to Idaho with my husband, Jarod, and our son, Wyatt. Why did you pick your specialty? Growing up in a rural state, I know family medicine physicians are the lifeblood of medical care in most small towns. When I decided to go to medical school, it seemed like a natural fit to train in family medicine because I felt like that specialty, in particular, would give me a unique breadth of skills to work in a rural environment. What can patients expect when they first meet with you? My reputation within my team is that I am very thorough. Because of this I am working on fine-tuning my efficiency so that I avoid getting behind. I love getting to know the full picture when I meet new patients and families. What are some of your hobbies? I grew up as a swimmer, even through college, although I rarely get time to do that these days. Now I am kept busy as the preparer of snacks, cleaner of messes, and supervisor of mildly dangerous stunts for my VERY busy 5-year-old little boy. What drew you to Kootenai Health? I chose to train at the residency here at Kootenai because of the people. There are some phenomenal teachers in this community, and even from my initial interview, I could tell the physician culture and community was going to be a good fit for my family and me. What is your favorite healthy tip? Get outside! We live in one of the most amazing places for outdoor activity. Every season of the year there are great ways to enjoy the mountains and lakes that surround us. Getting out and being active is great for your physical health, mental health, personal wellness, family bonding, and meeting friends. Turn off the technology and go for a walk!
