WeAppreciateYou “Our community’s support has gone a long way to boost morale, help our staff feel supported and provide necessary protective equipment during these trying times. Thank you to all the local businesses and community members for your generosity.” —Jennifer Collins, 3 East nursing manager auction to a level that includes access to the online auction, a one-night stay at the Coeur d’Alene Resort and a three-course gala dinner, delivered by room service. Event sponsors also have a wide range of support options. “I’m very proud of our team and the work they’ve done to make this event happen,” Julie said. “They’ve rallied and come up with some creative solutions.” The Festival of Trees is the area’s longest-running holiday event and is the largest fundraiser for the Kootenai Health Foundation. The proceeds raised over the holiday weekend support the growth of services and facilities at Kootenai Health, a community-owned hospital. Since its inception, donors helped build and expand cancer, heart, neonatal, rehabilitation, intensive care and emergency services. Anunprecedentedcause This year, proceeds will support the Foundation’s Health Care Heroes fund. The costs associated with COVID-19 have been, and will continue to be, significant. The needs of patients, caregivers and the hospital continue to grow. Now, more than ever, community support is vital. The burden of creating a testing facility, purchasing supplies and personal protective equipment, and bringing in additional staff and equipment has put a strain on the hospital’s resources. To help offset some of the impact, many creative solutions have been implemented at Kootenai Health. This year’s festival is giving members of the community a way to take part in this work and support those on the front lines. “I’m proud of our Kootenai Health leadership team for pulling together in an extraordinary situation,” Jon Ness, Kootenai Health CEO, said in a presentation to the Kootenai Health Foundation board members.
