KH . ORG 19 Foundation Golf Tournament Celebrates 30Years The Kootenai Health Foundation’s annual Golf Tournament, presented by Chapman Financial Services, will be held at the Hayden Lake Country Club on May 22, 2019. Thirty-two teams will participate in an 18-hole scramble with support from sponsors and local businesses. Through the years, this event has raised more than $740,000 to support Kootenai Health. This year’s event will help raise money to purchase a new da Vinci surgical robot. The da Vinci Surgical System allows specially trained surgeons to manipulate robotic arms and instruments and see a 3-D view of the target anatomy. This technology helps provide more precise movement, increased range of motion, decreased physician fatigue, enhanced visibility and access to hard-to-reach areas. Support our growth! We believe communication is key to making that journey as comfortable as possible.” The colorful book is eye-catching and easy for both parents and medical staff to use. It explains the steps in a NICU baby’s care, why they are done and how the parents can be part of the care process. It is used by speech and occupational therapists, lactation consultants, nurses, nutrition staff and anyone else that may care for the baby. “The kids got to see and hold a model of the book when we met with Julie and were drawn to the beautiful colors and design,” Aimee said. “I’m very thankful that my parents set up an account like this for the kids. I’m not sure we’d have an opportunity to do something like this otherwise. This was the first year they really got to sit down and see and learn about the project and the impact, which is what I want as a mom. It allows us the opportunity to teach them about the responsibility we have to others and how they can make a difference.” For their generosity and involvement in the project, Brayden’s and Emily’s names will be printed on each Caterpillar Book , which will sit in each room of Kootenai Health’s NICU. “We are so grateful for Brayden and Emily’s generosity,” Linsey said. “Because of them, and their parents and grandparents, we will be able to provide a better experience for our patients.” From left, Kootenai Health Foundation president, Julie Holt, accepts a donation from Emily, Brayden and their mother, Aimee Tanneberger.
