AdamNoyes, M.D. Cardiologist, Kootenai Heart Clinics Northwest Tell us a little bit about you and your family: I am originally from Seattle, where I attended the University of Washington. I then pursued my medical training out on the East Coast and finished my cardiology fellowship at Brown University. My amazing wife, Karen, who practices internal medicine in Spokane, and I decided to move back to the Northwest with our two beautiful children, Nikolas, 3 years, and Adriana, 10 months. Why did you pick your specialty? Prior to medical school, I was immersed in cardiology working in the cardiac intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center. That’s where I began appreciating the complexity and diagnostic challenges that it entails. Through my years of training, there was nothing more enjoyable than practicing cardiology. What can patients expect when they first meet with you? I hope to make patients feel comfortable when they come visit me in my office, and I take a special interest in them as an individual. I appreciate that medicine is a team approach that most definitely includes the patient’s opinion, and I like to incorporate that in the decision-making process. My areas of interest within cardiology include echocardiography, sports cardiology and prevention. What are some of your hobbies? I am a big skier and I seek the steepest and deepest. I like to travel with my wife and kids and enjoy spending time with friends. What drew you to Kootenai Health? Kootenai is a unique medical system where I feel the medical staff and physicians are not forgotten by the administration. Upon interviewing, I saw a matchless group of doctors in the Kootenai Heart Clinics Northwest offices. They have not only become my colleagues but are quickly becoming great friends. What is your favorite healthy tip? Healthy food intake! You can exercise all day long, but you cannot outrun a bad diet. To schedule an appointment, call (509) 847-2500 . Hinah Parker, M.D. Pediatric Hospitalist, Kootenai Clinic Hospital Medicine Tell us a little bit about you and your family: I’m a California native, raised in San Diego, and I attended college in Orange County. My husband and I met in medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and got married in Milwaukee during our fourth year. We had our two kids during residency in Los Angeles. My 3-year-old was born while I was an intern and we just had our 6-month-old at the end of our third year of residency. Why did you pick your specialty? Prior to deciding on a career in medicine, I had planned to go into education with the goal of teaching elementary school and focusing on kids with special needs. 10
