Me e t Ou r New P r ov i d e r s Tell us a little bit about you and your family: My husband, almost 1-year-old son and I recently moved here from Louisiana, and we are excited to be out of that humidity and see some snow! Why did you pick your specialty? My favorite patient population is, well...ornery, “grumpy” old men. They remind me of my grandpa, which is why I went into medicine to begin with. What are some of your hobbies? We love being outdoors. Hiking, camping, fishing and play- ing in the sun or snow. What drew you to Kootenai Health? We were looking for a place to settle in and raise a young family to appreciate being outside. Once we met the team at Kootenai Health, we knew we’d found home. What is your favorite healthy tip? Involve your family in getting and staying healthy. We love cooking as a family, trying new recipes and preparing the meal together. Same thing with exercising—make it family time. We like to jog together with the baby in the stroller. Tell us a little bit about you and your family: My husband and I were married nine years ago and we have three children. We both grew up in Texas and moved to Idaho in 2015. Why did you pick your specialty? Children are resilient and a lot of fun to work with. What are some of your hobbies? My family and I like to be outdoors: hiking, camping and fly fishing. I also enjoy reading. What drew you to Kootenai Health? During my time at the Mayo Clinic, a great and sincere emphasis was placed on how the needs of the patient come first. It seems as though the administration and other key in- dividuals at Kootenai want that to be the culture here as well, and I am excited about the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions. What is your favorite healthy tip? It is easy to get stuck on our daily struggles and frustrations, and I find that it is important to take at least a few minutes each day to find peace and be thankful.
