Me e t o u r n ew p r ov i d e r s Melanie Enderwick, M.D., FACP, CWSP Kootenai Clinic InfectiousDisease Tell us a little bit about you and your family. I’m from Nova Scotia, and my husband is from Canmore, Alberta. We have two children: Hailey, who is starting kindergarten this year, and Carter, who is just over a year old. Why did you pick your specialty? I loved learning how infectious diseases affected the history of the world. Bacteria and viruses are constantly evolving and outsmarting our antibiotics, so treatments are always a challenge. What can patients expect when they first meet with you? I’m eager to help them feel better. What are some of your hobbies? Skiing, camping and hiking. What drew you to Kootenai Health? The closeness to Canada and family, the climate, the lakes, and trees. What is your favorite healthy tip? Nothing can beat exercise, sleep and good food. To schedule an appointment, call (208) 625-6944 . Michelle Cano-Keighley, NP-C KootenaiClinicPlasticandReconstructiveSurgery Tell us a little bit about you and your family. My husband’s name is John and we have one son, Cole, who is a sophomore in high school this year. Why did you pick your specialty? As a registered nurse (RN), I spent many years in the operating room, which has always been a love of mine. When I decided to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner, I always hoped to one day get back into the surgical setting. What can patients expect when they first meet with you? I am truly dedicated to each patient’s individual journey and will go above and beyond for them. What are some of your hobbies? Spending time with family and friends, hiking, snowshoeing, and getting away to our favorite spot, Priest Lake. What drew you to Kootenai Health? Not only is this a highly desirable position for me because I am returning to the operating room, but I am also working with a growing medical center that strives to meet the needs of both its patients and staff. What is your favorite healthy tip? Sun protection! Idaho is one of the top five worst states when it comes to skin cancers. To schedule an appointment, call (208) 625-4333 . 10
