What are some of your hobbies? Besides cardiac surgery, I enjoy cooking, eating, and spending time with family and friends. What drew you to Kootenai Health? I have always desired to be a rural cardiothoracic surgeon. Kootenai provides all the factors necessary for me to be successful. We have an amazing team, excellent tools and a vast population of patients in need of my skillset. What is your favorite healthy tip? Stay active. Find ways to smile and laugh. My wife, Suzanne, is a chaplain and also works here at Kootenai in Guest Services. Why did you pick your specialty? I have always loved psychiatry and have been fascinated by behavioral science, and I always planned to pursue this as a career. What drew you to Kootenai Health? Over the years, several colleagues here at Kootenai would tell me of the great area and benefits of being part of the team, and I was finally convinced. What is your favorite healthy tip? The health tip I practice regularly is doing something daily in all areas: physical, mental, social and spiritual.
