The entire neonatal teamworked hard to accommodate
the boys, their birth mother and the Tripp family.
“The nurses at Kootenai are top-notch,” Chad said.
“Everyone was,” Brionn agreed. “All the way down to
the housekeeping staff. They all knewwhat was going on,
tried to find space for us and allowed us to bring Evan.
It was always about the birth mom and the boys—we all
wanted to make sure she was taken care of.”
The Tripps said they’re thankful for the team of people
it took to make everything run smoothly. Even though
the adoption and the birth moved quickly, they felt like
everything was thoroughly covered.

Kootenai Health is currently working to expand neonatal
services to help keep families together while premature
babies receive treatment. Kootenai recently brought on
two neonatologists to help the program get started. Dr.
Webb and Priscilla Hancock, M.D., are working to build
and enhance neonatal services for future premature ba-
bies and their families.
“We are making great progress in our ability to care
for high-risk babies here at Kootenai Medical Center,”
Dr. Webb said. “Our goal is to keep families together
here in Idaho while providing the expert care that these
vulnerable infants require. We are delighted that the neo-
natology program has been chosen as the beneficiary for
this year’s Festival of Trees. The funds raised will make
a big difference in the lives of our littlest patients!”
“We’re so grateful Kootenai was able to accommodate
us,” Brionn said. “I don’t know what we’d have done if
Chase had been sent to Spokane for treatment and Shea
stayed here.”
